Best KVK Award ICAR Zone IV – 2011.

  • Certificate of Recognition by ICAR for contribution in Promotion of Agricultural Technology on the occasion of Annual Day Function of ZPD, Kanpur on 19th May, 2012.
  • Sri. Mahek Singh (Trained by KVK) a basmati growing farmer got best seed producer farmer. 14th Indian Agricultural Scientist and farmer congress Feb., 2012.
  • Sri. Sethpal Singh, farmer from KVK adopted village “Nandifirozpur got Innovative Farmers award from IARI, New Delhi during 3-5 March, 2012.
  • Appreciation Certificate from Agriculture Department of U.P Govt. for performance under ATMA Scheme on 23rd Dec. 2011 at Lucknow.
  • Best Stall Award in Kisan Mela organized by SVPUA&T, Meerut from 23-25 Nov., 2011.
  • Third Best Stall Award in Northern State Kisan Mela at NDUA&T, Faizabad from 1-4 Nov. 2011.
  • Sri Sethpal Singh, farmers from KVK adopted village was one of the 16 farmers invited by ICAR from whole country for sharing his experience on Intensive vegetable production system at JNKVV, Jabalpur during National KVK Conference on 3-5 Dec., 2011.
  • Best Stall Award at National Level Exhibition organized by Late Amit Singh Memorial Foundation at Dehradun from 28-31 May, 2011.
  • Appreciation letter given by Director General, ICAR (23 May, 2011).
  • Best progress Report and Best Presentation Award of Zonal Project Directorate, ICAR, Kanpur during 2008, 2009 & 2010.
  • Only KVK from Zone-IV identified by National Academy of Agricuture Research Management (NAARM) Hyderabad for conducting Field Experience Training (FET) for ARS Probationers for 23 days (28 July to 19 Aug., 2010).
  • Three KVK trained farmers Sri Moh. Ajam Khan, Sri Rajpal Singh & Sri Sethpal Singh were identified at National level and attended National Innovators meet at Mysore (Karnataka) on 13-14 Nov., 2010.
  • Sri Rajpal Singh, KVK trained farmer was selected for interaction with the President of India on 22nd Dec., 2010 at National KVK Conference held at MPUA&T Udaipur, Rajasthan.
  • One of the KVK identified by the University for conducting Rural Work Experience Programme (RAWE) for final year students of graduate programme (2009 & 2010).

    Dr. P.K. Singh, Programme Coordinator of KVK is identified as Consultant/Resource Person by various organizations

    1. “National facilitator” by National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, under Extension Reforms scheme (ATMA).
    2. Identified as “Resource Person” for teaching PG Diploma in Agriculture Extension Management by State Institute of Management in Agriculture (SIMA), Lucknow.
    3. Consultant for ITC, Ltd. for launching e-chaupal project in western U.P.
    4. “Resource Person” by UP Diversified Agriculture Support Project for preparing Strategic Research and Extension Plans (SREPs).
    5. “Resource Person” by Division of Agriculture Extension, ICAR for conducting training at PAU, Ludhiana for KVKs of Zone I, IV, V & VI.
    6. “Resource Person” by Zonal Coordinating Unit, Zone-IV, ICAR, Kanpur for conducting training of newly recruited KVK Scientists on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA).

    The Most Significant Contribution

    Promoting export of Mango by managing fruit fly through introduction and popularization of “Biotrap”.

    Development of Peach based system as an alternative of sugarcane based system which can be taken up as entrepreneurship for sustainable livelihood.

    Popularization of manure production units (Vermi compost and NADEP) at farmer’s level for promoting integrated plant nutrient management.

    Entrepreneurship development in case of Basmati by introducing and popularizing Pusa Basmati-1401.

    Mushroom promoted in big way as source of additional income through supply of spawn and technology which led to establishment of more than 125 seasonal units in the district.

    Introduction and popularization of resource conservation technologies like zero tillage, raised bed planting and turbo seeder.

    Entrepreneurship development in the field of quality vegetable seedlings production and marketing which has resulted in adoption of better varieties.

    Seed treatment popularized at farmer’s level in big way in area of operation more than 8000 farmers are practicing it regularly.

    Participatory quality seed production of latest varieties at farmer’s field for faster seed replacement ratio.

    Entrepreneurship development through participatory quality seed production.

    Diversification in agriculture by introducing new enterprise Mushroom, crops like Onion and Peach besides varietal diversification.

    IPM technologies like application of Beuveria bassiana for termite control and sheath blight control through Trichoderma harzianum has been widely popularized.

    Mineral mixture supplementation and use of dewormer is being widely practiced which has resulted in better health and fertility leading to better conception rate and milk yield improvement of 1-2 litre/day/animal.

    Development of “Soil Fertility Map’ and soil test based advisory services in area of operation.

    A pool of 100 Extension Agents has been created by KVK for transfer of technology at faster rate.

    The KVK has significantly contributed at State and National level in impalements the Extension Reforms Scheme (ATMA) of Govt. of India by giving its expertise in finalizaing Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) and Capacity building of all line departments in the State of UP, M.P, Bihar, Tamilnadu, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

    Only KVK in Northan India to have Community Radio Station for transfer of Technology.
